We offer full service and support!

Software City offers local knowledgeable support.  Our team has over over 30 years of computer experience. Dawn Mooney, owner and chief technician, tends to spend more time studying them most medical students. This is a fast changing industry and it takes constant research and up to date experience to keep up with the industry. Crazy Omar and Discount Dave may have deals on computers, and you can pick up a computer at the massive warehouse or membership store along with a six-month supply of aspirin (you will need that for after you get their computer home) and a vat of peanut butter — but what kind of support do those places offer? Especially if you’re a first-time buyer, there’s no substitute for after-sale support. The support consideration far outweighs getting a deal or finding the cheapest computer in the land.

You can easily forget service and support because they’re not mentioned prominently in most ads. Instead, you see prices and deals and sales. Ignore them!

Service is the ability to fix your computer if something goes wrong with it. The best service is on-site, where someone comes to you and fixes your little electronic friend right where it lives. The worst service is when you have to pack up your computer and ship it to some overseas factory.

Support is help. It can be in the form of classes, phone support, or training.

The trade-off for a cheap computer is little service and no support.

Software City is a locally owned and operated computer store.  Joe and Dawn Mooney, the owners, have been in business in Jackson since 1983. Joe Mooney is 4th generation Jacksonian. His roots and future is in Jackson.  They are not a fly by night operation.  Their building was devastated from the 2003 tornado.  They opened their home to their clients and continued serving Jackson for a year while the building was being rebuild.

Software City is happy to have you with them when they build or work on your computer.  Our techbenches are in the open with plenty of room for you to work or watch and learn.  We don't try to hide in back rooms and keep you mystified about the inner workings of your computer. We sell what we use.  We believe in testing and using the same equipment we sell. We want your computer experience to be the most enjoyable one that we can make it for you.

We will deliver and set up your computer for you and even show you how to use it.  You don't have to be faced with several intimidating boxes of incomprehensible gadgets with no idea of how to get slot a into socket b.  This is a free service offered to all of our local clients.  We will even get your data from your old computer into your new one.  We will also be happy to clean up your old computer and sell it for you.

Most importantly.... you will walk in as a client and hopefully stay as a friend.
